BIG MOUNTAIN - CAMBODIAN TEMPLE
Hares: Chippy, Secs, Chook
Hash Flashers: Secs (group photo), Chippy Ringmaster: NA Report: Secs (with thanks to Uncle)
Weather: High cloud, cool breezes on Tran Phu side of the mountain.
Hash Cash: 1pm run fees Secs, Clerks Lite @ Nắng Vũng Tàu, 5 Lê Ngọc Hân, Ward 1. Total Hashers: 20 Trail: Own transport to Ngọc Dung restaurant, 79 Tran Phu. Initial plan was to take eco carts to 750 Trần Phú and onto Trần Xuân Độ, Hem 33, however, due to the carts being busy / unavailable our Hares had to do a quick rethink. So we started the trail in reverse, walking to Hung Thang temple, 112 Tran Phu and ascending the ~600 steps up to Hem 444. A short walk until red ribbons showed the way down a narrow path emerging at some small houses with a pack of barking (but not aggressive dogs). After a few left and right turns through narrow Hems we arrive at the foot of the staircase adorned with Khmer style stone handrail carvings. After climbing the ~400 steps we come out at Chùa Nam Sơn - aka the Cambodian Temple. After exploring the temple, we headed to the rear of the temple where we followed the trolley rails back up to Hem 444. We then retraced our steps descending the ~600 steps at Hung Thang temple and then back to Ngọc Dung. Highlights: Intricate Khmer style carvings at the temple. Exotic flora providing perfect photo opportunities Down Down: Nhà hàng Ngọc Dung, 77-79 Trần Phú. Downstairs by the beach frontRefreshments: Pork kebabs, watermelon, plums, Saigon Beer, Revive, Soft Drinks Circle: An informal circle on the beach. Hares were applauded for a great trail. No virgins or returnees this week. On on on: Mr C’s Speakeasy Next week: Watch this space, Zalo, facebook page @VungTauHHH and direct emails for details of next week’s run. PLEASE REMEMBER: We can all help to keep run fees as low as possible by cancelling registration if suddenly unable to attend (mismanagement can then adjust transport and/or food and drinks if necessary). “On On”
