HOÀ BÌNH WATERFALLS
Hares: Chippy, Secs, Bull Ant
Hash Flashers: Chippy, Chom Chom Baptism sprinkles: Bishop Ringmaster: David Report: Bull Ant with thanks to Uncle
Weather: Sunny and hot.
Hash Cash: Early start for longer distance to travel - 11 am run fees Bull Ant, Secs @ Nắng Vũng Tàu, 5 Lê Ngọc Hân, Ward 1 (on Lam Son side of the building near parking area and new storage shed). Total Hashers: 36 Trail: Hashmobile arrived with plenty of time for loading and as such departure was pretty much on time. With a couple of stops along the way, everything appeared to be timed with military precision. We dismounted approx. 90 mins after departure at the Ray River Irrigation Project dam via Ba Ria and Xuyen Moc, approx 4.5 km (and a lot of deep, fast-flowing water) from our Down Down destination: Thác chính Hoà Bình (Hoa Binh main waterfall). Chalk talk by Bullant, then over the locked gate and it was on on. This trail would differ from previous trips as our normal trail had been inhabited in a couple of areas by some very nasty wasps. Our Hares had navigated a different path which in some ways was better. The new trail negated the need to cross waist deep rivers however still left Hashers negotiating a series of obstacles including lower-leg-shredding undergrowth, lots of mud and razor wire fences. Highlights: Chicken salad ‘country style’ at the down down (head, tail, legs, feet, etc etc – nothing wasted!). Swimming in the eco park waterfalls: Junior Hashers and several ‘not so junior’ really enjoyed it. Special interest: The Ray River (Sông Ray) starts at Xuan Loc mountain in Dong Nai province, runs through BR-VT’s Dat Do, Long Dien and Xuyen Moc districts and flows into the ocean through Loc An estuary. It plays an important role in supplying water for domestic use and agricultural production of BR-VT province, managed by the Ray River Irrigation Project. Down Down: Thác chính Hoà Bình (Hoa Binh main waterfall). Refreshments: Chicken & mushroom congee/rice soup, chicken salad ‘country style’. Watermelon slices, pineapple chunks. Bia Saigon, Revive, softies, mineral water. Circle: A few returnees including Thuy and Vaughan and also a couple of junior virgins, one of which we may never again, such was his mood since leaving the bus. On on on: Mr C’s Speakeasy. Next week: Watch this space, Zalo, facebook page @VungTauHHH and direct emails for details of next week’s run. PLEASE REMEMBER: We can all help to keep run fees as low as possible by cancelling registration if suddenly unable to attend (mismanagement can then adjust transport and/or food and drinks if necessary). “On On”
