Additional photos: Ice Water, Perro Caliente Ringmaster: Basil We all met again in Hon Ru Ri coffee shop at 14:00, and Returnee Lady D managed to meet all the other Returnee Hashers, but some wonder why SamSon has been missing for past few weeks. Then we follow Hares Basil and Flying Finn to Hem 84, Phan Chu Trinh, and we pass through the park on Front Beach where locals are doing lots of family activities. When we reach our destination, we realise that Hashers Terminator and Anatoly have dashed ahead and missed our meeting point - but they were called back by Perro Caliente. Then Basil start the chalk-talk that today's trail is going up to the lighthouse, but we do not take the bushes because the Hares got cut and bruised when they tried that trail so they decided to go by cement road. We climbed the rocky slope to reach the cement road that leads to the lighthouse and while we walk along, Hasher Anatoly saw a lot of couples on the way and he tried to encourage them to do more exercise, in Russian! As we nearly reach the lighthouse, the trail turned to the small detour that goes through the forest and around the cement road; however, Mother Teresa knows the trail and decided to head down the mountain first, and Basil is waiting at the old Worldwide Arms Museum building since the trail down the mountain starts from there but isn't visible, so everyone needs direction. When everyone meets up with Basil, we all headed down the stairs that go through the village houses, and come out at the market near Phan Chu Trinh street. Then we all head back to Hon Ru Ri where our ice cold San Miguels are waiting. After we regain our strength(!), we took the team photo and started the Circle. After the welcoming message, Ringmaster Basil invited the Hares Flying Finn and himself into the Circle, and Russian Hasher Yena was nominated to rate the trail. She said it was "a good trail", but when they finish at the lighthouse they don't know where to go down the mountain, so they walk until they saw Basil waiting at the old museum, so the trail was awarded 9.5/10 We welcomed 2 Hash Virgins, Alexei and his wife Yelina - they were introduced by Yena. They like the Hash and if not so busy at work they will join more often. Basil sang the "welcome virgins" song by demand of the Circle. We got returnees: Lady D with her excuse being travel and her friend's birthday party; and Blondie and Dr Who who were absent only for 1 week, revealed to us that their excuse for missing that week is they got engaged. Congratulations! Sinners, we got Mother Teresa and Basil for not going all the way to lighthouse and going back early, so Down Down for them! Then announcement that Blondie and Dr Who will leave the Hash for work and might possibly going to Sydney for 6 months. And then they can come back to the Hash for another time. Safe trip both of you! Another announcement, that next March Vietnam will be visited by Pattaya Hash from Thailand and they would like to Hash with SH3 (Saigon), NTH3 (Nha Trang) and VTH3. We got 2 options: do a run with Pattaya Hash before or after they run with SH3 - or do a joint run with Pattaya and SH3. Basil will try to contact SH3 for confirmation and announce his findings. Before Basil closed the Circle, he told that the Hash always need Hares to set trails every week, so Terminator and Mother Teresa agreed to help set the next trail in Long Hai Mountains. They will send message to Basil if the trail is successfully set, so please watch the NEXT RUN box on the website for more updates. We'll meet again on Sunday, as usual, at Hon Ru Ri: 2 pm for 2.30 pm start. On On! VTH3 #761 PHOTO GALLERY

Hares: Perro Caliente, Big Mac Ailing Hash (caretaker) Hares: Flying Finn, Basil Hash Flash: Viking. Group photo: Fot tret Ringmaster: Basil Report: Basil End of rainy season cloud cover promised a cool run as we met at Hon Ru Ri coffee shop for registration. As we prepared to depart we got a phone call from Hasher Lucy running late. Basil stayed behind while the rest followed Hare Perro Caliente and we all arranged to meet at Vi Ba street. When we reached the area to start the chalk-talk, Hare Perro told Hashers that the trail will be split, with those who want the Hard trail follow him, and easy trail go with Big Mac. Basil will help Big Mac and Flying Finn will help Perro Caliente’s group. We go down through the sawmill with lots of barking dogs as we pass a lot of village houses. One house particularly that Canadian Visitor Julie wanted to take a photo and the owner allow it. Big Mac relied on his GPS because he helped set the trail, but no markers so we talk with the locals and they show us the way to the temple where Big Mac remembered the way again. We walked up the stairs and around the temple on top, then we saw Hare Perro Caliente’s shredded paper markers and soon we followed them. We reached a junction and decided to go down the mountain to the familiar Cambodian Pagoda, but then we know this is not the place where we arranged to meet with Perro again. Basil knew the way from there on, although it wasn’t enough time to catch up with Perro’s group, so we gave them a call and arranged to meet again at 241 Tran Phu. As we came down the stairs thinking we are the first group, we saw the others ahead of us and we all met up again at 241 Tran Phu, but missing 4 Hashers. Grandma Rita and Stubble turned back to help find 2 Russian Hashers and then took a taxi back to Hon Ru Ri for the Circle. Ice Water and Fot tret had somehow reached the artillery station, so Basil told them to head down the mountain and also take a taxi to Hon Ru Ri. When everyone was back at Hon Ru Ri, we held a Circle before the group photo inside the hut with comfortable chairs. Basil gave a welcome message and congratulated everyone for finishing the trail. He invited Hares Perro and Big Mac into the Circle and they chose Rita for rating the trail. She said it was “Excellent, with lots of challenges, exciting, new and good weather trail and each worth 5 fingers,” and with that we got a 25/10 for the Hard Trail! And Basil gave the easy trail a 9/10. We welcomed Canadian Visitor Julie to our family; she found out about the Hash through Google and contacted Uncle. The past few weeks she was sick, but now she happy to make new friends. Then Returnees, Basil invited Mr Dan who is the Rarest Returnee because Basil forgot his name! And then Sinners, Ice Water and Fot tret need to explain why they got lost (some Hashers said they might have been busy talking and didn’t see the markers); but their excuse is that they were mesmerised taking photos and when they finished, they were left behind. So they charged Ailing Hash caretaker Flying Finn for not taking care of the back group! Then Ms Diep reminded Basil that we should give her a Hash name since she did her 6th run. With such a sudden request, Basil asked the Circle’s opinion, so Viking pointed out that she always dream about “Shrimp” and Perro added that she did today’s hard trail, so her Hash name is “Mountain Shrimp”, which sounds like a delicacy served in the restaurant! And with that, we closed another week and since there were no volunteers to help set the next trail, everyone needs to pay attention to the NEXT RUN box on the website for more updates. And Vietnamese celebrate Teacher Day today, so we wish all teachers the best of luck! We’ll meet again on Sunday, as usual, at Hon Ru Ri: 2 pm for 2.30 pm start – in any weather! On On! Circle photos: Sid Knee and friends Ringmaster: SamSon Report: Basil We all met at Hon Ru Ri coffee shop at 14:00 with lots of Returnees eager to meet new Hashers. When we reach the other side of Dinh Mountain, Returnees aren’t familiar with this new trail except Flying Finn, who remembered the area. Then Basil start the chalk-talk and new duty Hash Flash SamSon took some pictures, and then we walked the stairs which aren’t every Hasher's favourite - but sighs of relief as we turn left to the dirt road and there are no more stairs! We walked to an open area and followed the red tape inside the forest, with the trees shading us from the hot sun so Hashers able to enjoy chatting about wildlife. And as we were coming out of the forest, we turned right to follow the stream and it is so beautiful that several Hashers, including Ice Water and Rose, took some photos before leaving. Then we headed down to the bus for our ice cold San Miguels: perfect for this hot weather which also signals that the rainy season is finally over! After some delicious snacks, we took our group photo in the wide open temple area, then SamSon started the Circle with a welcome message. He brought in the Hares (himself and Basil), and Ronald Reagan volunteered to rate the trail. "Excellent work by the Hares, many new faces and thank you for this new trail." He awarded 9+/10 - Down Down for the Hares! Then we welcomed our new Hash Virgin K9 replacement for Hashputin: “Deevi”, from Terminator's family. It is Deevi's first Hash so he might not be used to the Hash Circle but we welcomed him as part of our family. Then we welcomed back Returnees Big Mac, Big Bird, Blackhawk, Ronald Reagan and Blondie. Their excuses were Ronald Reagan was trying to save the world but not yet; Big Mac was in Australia taking care of business; Blackhawk had an injured back but now he is fine by dancing; Big Bird was trying to run away from Donald Trump(!); and Blondie was with her family in Russia. Welcome back everyone and Down Down for them! And Sinners, we had Ronald Reagan for broken shoes, proven by Mother Teresa and photo evidence; Flying Finn for clean shoes; and Sid plus Sid Knee for going the trail 2nd round! We thanked Foodies Mother Teresa, Blondie and Lucy for their delicious snacks and souvenir from Russia. Down Down for them. Before we closed the Circle, Basil announced that the Hash always needs Hares, whether local or away trails, everyone is welcome to volunteer (and earn a free run!). In the meantime, please keep checking the website for trail updates in the NEXT RUN box. We’ll meet again on Sunday, as usual, at Hon Ru Ri: 2 pm for 2.30 pm start – in any weather! On On! Hares: Basil, Perro Caliente, Flying Finn Hash Flash: Dr Who Ringmaster: SamSon Report: Basil We all met at Hon Ru Ri coffee shop at 14:00 despite weather forecast for raining and big wind; however, the weather turned out normal, with no rain in sight - and we know at least 15 Hashers run in any weather! As Hare Basil led Hashers to Vi Ba street and start his chalk-talk, he told that on the day of trail setting, Hare Geronimo got an urgent call from his work so Basil set the trail alone and it was raining so he set an easy trail, but today there is no rain. So experienced Hashers Perro Caliente and Returnee Flying Finn volunteered to become additional Hares and we all did the trail with them. We headed to trail M90 and Basil showed them the old tape left by Hare Uncle a few weeks ago, then we all follow the trail to the familiar open "crossroads" area and continued around the waterfall trail under the cable cars. As we reach the waterfall trail, the sky darkened and let out rain and because of few days raining non-stop, the Hashers found the waterfall area with lots of water coming down the mountain! After 2 minutes of rain, the sun shone and the rain had stopped, so we all put away our raincoats and continued to the top of Vi Ba road. Then we headed down to the nuoc mia shop to have our sugarcane juice “take-away”. Then instead of following down the red tape to Vi Ba steps down to Hem 89, Basil took Hashers Astro Mom and Astro Girl to a short-cut through White Villa: a decision that later landed Basil in the Circle! When we all get down safety at Hon Ru Ri, SamSon arrived to make sure the Hash is doing well despite the misinformation of the weather forecast. After our sponsor's help with our thirst, we took a group photo - but the first attempts were with an upside down banner (see photo gallery below). SamSon donned the chain of office, and started the Circle by inviting Hare Basil, who welcomed additional Hares Perro Caliente and Flying Finn who helped with today's trail. Sid Knee was chosen to rate the trail. The trail was "excellent" and he awarded 10/10, but Hare Basil wanted to added 1 more point for the waterfall; however, SamSon deducted a point since everyone went on a different trail to the one the Hare set, so final score 10/10. We have no Hash Virgins today, but we had Returnees Flying Finn with excuse "in Finland and open a Finland Hash", Astro Mom for excuse of being in charge of the house so she can’t often come to the Hash, and Astro Girl who have to follow her Mom. We award the sinner's cup to Flying Finn for the worst excuse. Then Sinners: SamSon was nominated for chatting in the Circle, and Basil was called when Astro Girl told that he took the short-cut to the Down Down. So Down Down for them both! Then announcement for next week's trail: with no volunteers from the Circle, SamSon said he and Basil will set an away trail in Ba Ria, but where exactly then please check the NEXT RUN box for more updates later this week. We’ll meet again on Sunday, as usual, at Hon Ru Ri: 2 pm for 2.30 pm start – in any weather! On On! VTH3 #758 PHOTO GALLERY
