Hasher Knob Doctor been in Vung Tau for a few months but surprised to find such remains still in shape. - After finish the photo we walk down the path and here some Hashers arrived early and decided to wait for the last Hashers so all coming down to Hem 444 together. - As we wait for “Hash mobile”, OXO is interested in the Tuk-Tuk mobile, maybe someday we can have a Tuk-Tuk for the Hashers. - We arrive back in 12 Hung Vuong, pétanque Café Bi Sắt, to be greeted by SamSon who is here to meet with the returnees and nominated to become Ring Master today. After the group photo, SamSon started the Circle quickly because some Hashers had work to do afterwards. - A welcome message, and then the trail was to be rated by Knob Doctor. The Circle wanted to give 8. But it was deducted to 7 because the Hares forgot the trail. So 7/10. - Hash Virgins, we welcome Damien and his girlfriend Karina. Damien is Faulty Brakes’ son and his first time in Vietnam, so welcome Damien and good work Faulty Brakes, here’s to all of them… - Next we got returnees Paul and Family and Ms Hoa, who reason is they come back Hashing because holiday but if Paul “work” the family also “work” and Ms Hoa also “working”. - Sinners, we have Hares who forgot to remark the trail and forgot the trail, they must wear the tube, and Sinner Ben, nominated by Paul for taking a short cut. - As the day ends so the fun must end, even for little Oopso who had enjoyed himself “icing” Hashers in the Down Downs (see photos)! - SamSon announced the next trail will be in Minh Dam secret zone, and first volunteer to set the trail is SamSon. - We'll meet again on Sunday at pétanque Café Bi Sắt, 12 Hung Vuong Street: 2 pm for 2.30 pm start - in any weather! Hares: KFC, Chippy Hash Flash: Cousin Ring Master: Basil Report: Basil - Today’s weather is raining due to the storm in Pacific Ocean, but it didn’t stop 20 Hashers joining for today’s run. - We all board the bus to Dinh Mountain (“Nui Dinh”); for some reason today is cold but inside the bus, the driver open the air-con which more colder! - As Dinh mountain is within our sight, we saw it was covered with fog which makes today’s run one of a kind, fog of war, exciting, shouting “on-on” trail! - As the bus drop us at the temple, Hare Chippy tell everyone this temple is for Down Down but we must keep it clean. And we all bring the offering to the temple before the run. - We go down the stairs and fascinating to see how big this temple is, they got cargo rail, 2 big domes as stages, tractors which little Oopso like to hop on and try to become Vietnamese farmer. - As soon as we finish bring the offering, we got young devotee try to practise English with foreign Hashers. - Hare Chippy explain the trail in Vietnamese and Basil translate: the trail lead to the mountain top where the bell is, this is the old trail where SamSon set it few weeks ago, so only half is a new trail. - The rain started and helped Hashers cool down during the climb. We go up to the coffee shop where Hare Chippy mention in her Chalk Talk. - The climb start out as stair climbing and then turn to rocky walking, we go and shout “on-on” and little Oopso start follow the Hash tradition by saying “on-on”. - We reach the coffee shop where they had beautiful stream and rocky like in Da Lat. Hashers took pictures with friends, family or just the scenery which makes this worth “million dollar views”. - As soon as we reach the cement road, which Chippy mention wasn’t there 1 year ago, some recognise this was the trail set by SamSon. We found some old marking tape still there. - While we go up the mountain to the bell, the first group who finish seeing the bell are confused whether the trail continue over the other side or turn back. Basil reminds them and finally they remember what the trail look like. - As soon as we reach the top where the bell temple is, we saw fog covered the view which makes it more beautiful. From here, you can usually see the City but now the fog make the city disappear like magic! - We turn back the way we came and it’s now 5 pm so we must make it down the mountain before dark. - As we come down to the temple, the temple’s “guards” bark at Mary’s “buddy companion”. - As soon we reach the main road, we relieved to finally coming out of the forest and headed down to the bus and ice cold San Miguel. - Hashers Rajah and Robert don’t remember where the bus is so they wait at the coffee shop near the bridge, because Rajah remember where the down down was held few weeks ago. Basil found them and guide them back to the bus. - After some few drinks and Vodka for Live Wire, we start the group photo before it get dark, then Ring Master Basil start the Circle right away. - A thank you message from the RM for Hashers showing up even though it raining. Yes, we do run in any weather and thank you for supporting the Hash. - We welcome Hares Chippy and KFC but KFC wasn’t here today, so the Circle decided to rate the trail. There was a little confusion during the trail and so RM decided to let the Circle vote, with majority favour a perfect score: 10/10! - We don’t have any Hash Virgins or Returnees today, but we got Sinners. Flying Finn who turn the wrong way, followed by Faulty Brakes, Rajah, Robert and Live Wire who got lost. So here’s to the Sinners… - Today’s guest of honour is Live Wire, his announcement in the Circle that he stay in Vietnam for 14 years and now he and his wife Private Business will go back to Russia. The Circle refuses to say goodbye forever but say “We see you again”, which Live Wire promise will return. - Before RM end the Circle he announced next week is a local trail; it was set by Faulty Brakes and Flying Finn recently, and now we shall use it. - We'll meet again on Sunday at Petanque Café Bi Sắt, 12 Hung Vuong Street: 2 pm for 2.30 pm start - in any weather! Live Hare: Basil Hash Flash: Cousin Ring Master: SamSon Report: Basil - Hashers all meet at Café Bi Sắt, and excited about tonight’s Christmas Party. Basil arrived with the newspaper that said about VTH3’s Red Dress (charity) Run last week. - The News is in Vietnamese so Hashers helped each other translate the language and check the pictures of who is in the newspaper. - Weather is nice and cool; Basil had a chalk-talk and announced that today is Live Hare, so Hash Virgins can follow the Hare while other Hashers already figure the trail layout because they know this mountain. - Then “On-On” we go to Vi Ba street through the residential stairs and continue to the sealed road then walk up the hill where our trail starts. - At this time we saw Vietnamese locals drinking rice wine and cheers with each other, also cheers to passing Hashers, it’s Sunday so it’s okay. - We arrive at the trail, where Terminator goes on ahead with his trusty K9 companion “Yoffie” because he knows this trail well. While Hash Virgins had hard time to understand how things work, new Hare Shaky help by telling them to look for the red tape which still hanging on the trees for marking. - While Returnees having difficulty since they have been absent for so long, Little Hashers Mini Mac and Cam Tu went up the trail with ease. According to Mini Mac’s dad, she likes to go up and down steps twice a day, without tiring. - Arriving at the tall grass, Hashers follow the old red tape hoping to see the waterfall, but unfortunately, there was no rain this last couple of months. - We go under the Cable Car and continue until we reach the cement road. We walk down the road where we saw UXO and Stubble buying sugarcane drink because it’s famous there. - A pleasant walk down Vi Ba street and plenty of Locals doing exercise. We walk down the stairs to reach our Down Down at Café Bi Sat. - Because tonight we have a Christmas Party, we take the team sponsor photo and Ring Master SamSon starts the Circle. - Live Hare Basil was called and UXO nominated for rating the trail. Beautiful scenery but there was no waterfall as promised, so Basil got punished by wearing the tube to Down Down the beer; however, he executed perfectly and created a waterfall, so Circle award him 2 points that makes the trail score 8/10! - While Hash Virgin Robert from U.S. is absent because he went back for shower, we welcomed the Returnees: Happy Hour with acceptable excuse taking care of little Mini Mac. KFC, Chippy, Ishigawa Oil Boom, and Ms Thuan with unacceptable excuses “working” and “holiday”. - Ring Master now presented the newspaper to the Circle showing last week’s Red Dress charity run is in the News; congratulations, and we hope our Hash family grows with the extra publicity. - With no Sinners, RM SamSon ended the Circle so everyone can prepare for the party. - We had lots of fun and Hash Virgin Robert had a chance to meet our Hash family. - Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone who couldn't join us today! - We'll meet again on Sunday at Petanque Café Bi Sắt, 12 Hung Vuong Street: 2 pm for 2.30 pm start. Christmas coming early and Santa Claus troops are ready! - The journalist covering the story was busy and couldn’t meet us at 12 Hung Vuong, but she shall meet us at Go Gang Island, same as one Hasher also waiting there for the “Sleigh” to arrive. - When we arrive, our driver decided that the way in isn’t possible, but nothing stops Hashers to bring these joyful presents to the poor people waiting at the Elementary School (one of them brought along a cute dog). - We bring in the gifts and we got Long Son Women’s Association representative, 13 recipients and head villager welcome us. SamSon gladly take the role of interpreter. An informal procedure for those people received our gifts was held and all are in the photos. - The reporter arrived to interview the people in Go Gang Island and Women’s Association, while we Hashers conduct our scheduled trail run. - Chalk-Talk by Basil and “On-On” we go to the Prawn Farm, and the locals already cheer us with their wine. We walk the narrow way while avoiding motorbikes. Mini-Hasher Oopso saw some small fish and got excited! - The trail led us into the forest and we came out at the big lake. All we had to do is a run while enjoying beautiful scenery with sun reflecting off the water. - We got plenty of dogs barking but they are on the other side of the farm, so Hashers don’t care and continue the trail. - Hash Flash Cousin and additional photographers Bac Si House and Tiny Tim use this chance to take many photos, which the reporter wanted to be sent to her. - We come half way the Circle but Hashers need to pass through a house with many dogs barking and the owner was nowhere to be seen. - Hashers reluctant to pass through the house but can still pass around the house and avoid the dogs. - A smooth wind and we walk back to the forest where we entered, but coming out of the forest, Hashers SamSon, Big Mac, UXO’s family and Peter Pan come out the other direction. Basil told them to follow the red tape, but they walk 1 km without noticing that there was no tape there! - We come back full circle to the Elementary school where the bus finally arrive with our Eskies of cold drinks, and Hashers happy to take those into our Down Down at the Elementary school because no kids there on Sundays. - The reporter interviewed Bac Si House, Mother Teresa, Hard Drive, Peter Pan and SamSon, with Basil interpreting answers to the question: “What do you think about the Hash?” - After a few pictures taken with our Sponsor Banner, San Miguel, the reporter got what she needed and headed home and we started our Circle. - Big Thank you to everyone from the Ring Master, and Hare Basil coming to the Circle and Hot Dog nominated to rate the trail: “Good trail with prawn farm and lake, so 8/10.” - We welcomed Hash virgins Ms Lien and Hasse Barsev from Denmark - all are friends of Viking, so double Down Down for him! Rajaram, friend of Rajah, and Visitor Knob Doctor from Saigon Hash. - Returnee Rita with excuse “Grandmother on Duty” which we accept, while Hard Drive, UXO and OXO with unacceptable excuse of “Working” so Down Downs for them. - Sinners Big Mac, Peter Pan and OXO with SamSon wearing the tube because of him talking not paying attention to the red tape which makes these people get lost. But hare Basil also sinner because he did not put up yellow tape. - The Contest for who wearing the Best Red Dress, with Rita and Big Mac were the most request to be the winner but we can’t decide so they both winners! Too bad for SamSon, at least he tried… - Foodies Mother Teresa and Tiny Tim, a big thanks to them and a shower of cold water with everyone realize that maybe Mother Teresa won’t cooking next time. - As the sun set, SamSon announced in the Circle that an informal end of year gathering will be held at Café Bi Sắt next Sunday. Attendees will book and pay 140k in advance, and after the "waterfall" run (Big Mountain) they'll go home and change then come back at 6 pm for the function. - SamSon then closed the Circle and we cleaned the schoolyard and finally got back to our “Sleigh” after a job well done! - We'll meet again on Sunday at Petanque Café Bi Sắt, 12 Hung Vuong Street: 2 pm for 2.30 pm start - in any weather!
