BIG MOUNTAIN - "Up the Power Lines and SAGOTA PARTY"
Hares: Mr. T, Cleaver
Hash Flasher: Kojak
Ringmaster: Sagota!, Boozer
Report: Secs

As usual we meet at Uno Coffee for registration, on a beautiful, sunny Sunday afternoon where we are informed to make our way to Paci Bia Hoi where we will start the run. Once we have reconvened Mr. T, tells us to walk to Vi Ba via Le Ngoc Han where the rest of our instructions will be relayed.

With a spring in our step we make our way through the streets of Vung Tau until we turn off to the left at the end of Le Ngoc Han street and climb up the steps to Vi Ba. Once we have all caught up with each other, Mr. T, proceeds to deliver the rest of the chalk-talk. Follow the Vi Ba road until we come to a temple where we will head off to the left and follow the power lines to the top of the mountain, then follow the red ribbons until we come out again on Vi Ba. Go back down Vi Ba and then make our back to the Bia Hoi the same way we came.

So, On-On, we go, and it soon becomes apparent that this is no easy trail. The steep road up to the temple is already an arduous task and there were a few incredulous gasps from our Hashers as we left the temple road and began the near vertical ascent following the electricity pylons. It’s a rocky climb, luckily some kind soul has installed guide ropes to pull ourselves over the larger boulders.

As we reach the top, a sense of satisfaction overwhelms us as we finally emerge at the perimeter of Ho May Park - where Hash Flasher, Kojak, is waiting to capture the moment. This is the perfect spot to take a seat and breath in the spectacular, unfettered view of Vung Tau - and, of course, pose for photos. Recovered, and realising the hardest part of the trail is now complete, we follow the red ribbons into the forest. The trail takes us across the top of the mountain and affords more spectacular views until we are back on Vi Ba and walk back to the Bia Hoi.

Back at the Bia Hoi there is a short down-down because tonight we have a momentous celebration - the signing of the contact with our new sponsor - SAGOTA BEER! We return home to don our glad rags and makeup and reconvene at 6pm at Billabong Sports Bar and Restaurant.

The party atmosphere is palpable in Billabong Bar, we quench our thirst with ice-cold beer and soft drinks generously provided by our sponsor SAGOTA BEER, a scrumptious array of finger food is also on offer. Time to sign ceremonial contract, and stepping up to the plate are our Sagota Beer representative, Mr. Tien, and representing VTH3, Secs. With a flick of the wrist the contracts are signed, exchanged and for the next 12 months VTH3 and SAGOTA will be partners in beer and Hashing!

Formalities complete we welcome our new partner in inimitable VTH3 style. The ceremonial Hash Bugle is unveiled and our legendary bugler Boozer bugled the charge to begin the Hash Song….. “We are Vung Tau Hashers, hashing in the sun, we have……...” we all sang in unison to our VTH3 friends at Sagota. Finally, we re-initiate Mr. Tien in to the Hash family with the obligatory dousing with the delicious Sagota Beer he represents.

VTH3 Mismanagement would like to thank Mr. Tien, Sagota Beer, and all our Hashers who contribute to the success of VTH3 - we couldn’t do without you all.
