BIG MOUNTAIN - ROCKY TRAIL / HEM 444

Weather: Blue sky, hot afternoon sun!
Hash Cash: 1 pm run fees Secs, Bull Ant @ Nắng Vũng Tàu, 5 Lê Ngọc Hân, Ward 1.
Total Hashers: 26
Trail:  Eco cart/own transport to Ngoc Dung restaurant, 79 Tran Phu. Chalk Talk by Secs (edited): Walk 400m to Happy Trail start at Vo Van Kiet school; follow red tape uphill via challenging rock climb to top of peak then across to Cao Dai VN church. Take sealed track down to Hem 444 and turn right towards Ho May Park following red tapes until 600 steps descent to Hung Thang temple, 112 Tran Phu. Through temple grounds, across road and turn right to Ngoc Dung for Down Down. Total distance ~5 km.
Highlights: Reaching end of long rocky ascent from Happy Trail. Views of fishing village and shipyards on left of Hem 444 then Vung Tau bay on the right. Watching the setting sun at beachfront Down Down.
Down Down: Ngoc Dung restaurant, downstairs beachfront.
Refreshments: Saigon Chill, softies, water; banh mi with meat/salad fillings, mango, water melon
Circle: 1100th run celebrated. Trail ratings 9.9, 10, 100/10: “Rocky, challenging trail”. Hares Chippy, Secs, Bull Ant applauded. Hash Virgins/Visitors Tony (London), Tung (Vung Tau), Surat / Hieu (Thailand) welcomed; baptized by Bishop. Returnee Ragnar Shaggypants “Been to Cambodia”.
