BIG MOUNTAIN - "A Day for Losing Things"

Hares: Flying Finn, Faulty Brakes
Hash Flash: Cousin
Ring Master: Basil
Report: Basil

We all meet at our Hon Ru Ri cafe for a Big Mountain trail, when SamSon arrive and tell us that this week is one of Mother Teresa’s daughter’s birthday so she sent apologies and let us know the news.
Then we all board the “Hash Mobile” to Hem 491, where the trail #722 was and today we revisit.
We walked the familiar steps to the temple currently being built, and then climbed the mountain to the dirt road.
Hare Flying Finn forgot his trail and continued climbing the mountain up the top where the open space area of someone’s garden, while down below co-Hare Faulty Brakes calling his partner that he passed the way they supposed to go!
As we climb up to the top, we found that we are in someone else’s garden, but the caretaker was nice enough to help us took a second photo for group picture and showing us the way down.
However, Basil remember the surroundings and told the Hares that if they follow the trail, they will found the way lead to the cement track where last year, Hashers had trouble because there was a horse running around their trail.
As soon as we coming out of the road, the old trail we follow lead us to the cement road and here Hares told Hashers that they got two options: If they turn left they will come across the infamous 600 steps, but they will be close to the Down Down, so recommended for children and anyone else to take a short cut.
On the right, the trail will lead us to the artillery station and the trip to the Down Down will be longer - which recommended for Hashers who want more exercising. But in the end every Hasher decided to took the long trail!
When we reach the artillery station, some Hashers are tired so they used the “Hash Mobile” to reach the Down Down - while returnee kid Hasher Hoang walk to the Down Down with his Dad and Basil.
At last, we all made it back to the Down Down at 102 Tran Phu, where familiar owner welcomed the Hash with the cold eskies filled with San Miguel beer and soft drinks.
After a break, Basil donned the chain of honour and started the Circle with a welcome message. With the Hares standing in the Circle, Pavel is nominated to rate the trail. “A very good trail, very long,” but was set by two “young” men and everyone enjoy it, so 10/10.
We welcomed Hash virgin Ms Ly and her friend who introduce her to the Hash Ms Linh. While Mother Teresa not around, other Hashers decided to follow her traditional “welcome performance”!
Returnees Chippy, Yu Bok, Ms Linh, Ms Thu and Hoang, all excuses are “Working”, “Travel and Charity” and “Study”; we are happy to see them back.
And while the ladies are sinners for using the “Hash Mobiles”, Faulty Brakes is also nominated because he volunteered to carry the eskies and the snacks to the Down Down, but he forgot the snacks. Bigger problem is Basil put the ice bag in the snack bag, but the ice bag is at the Down Down and the snack bag isn’t, so here’s to the Sinner…
There were no announcements about the next trail and the Hares, so please check the website NEXT RUN box for updates.
We’ll meet again on Sunday at 2 pm for 2.30 pm start at Hon Ru Ri floating restaurant, formerly known as Sao Bien 4 (see website Home page for details).
