LONG HAI - "Twin trails, fresh mountain air!"

Hares: Terminator, Mother Teresa
Hash Flash: Fot tret.  Additional photos: Radio Wave
Ringmasters: SamSon, Basil

Todays topic of discussion as we met at Hon Ru Ri coffee shop at 14.00 was about a new trail set by Mother Teresa and Terminator; we also have a few returnee Hashers join us today including Tiny Tim, Radio Wave, Short Wave and SamSon.
As we reach Long Hai, and with road navigated by Mother Teresa and Vietnamese translator SamSon, we managed to show the bus driver to Down Down and starting points.
We were dropped off on the road near the factory, then Mother Teresa started her chalk talk with Russian-English translator Super Teen. The trail is marked with red tape; however, they marked another one for those who like it easy, and the one marked with red and green tape together is a very hard trail for those who like a challenge. Also Mother Teresa has tied a piece of paper with the red tape so if anyone found it, they will be rewarded with prizes from her at the Down Down!
Then “On-On” from the sealed road to the dirt road. We walked into an abandoned coffee shop garden, with the security guy puzzled about where Hashers were coming from! We walked past the coffee shop into the forest and coming to the open area, then Hash Virgin Mr Tien discover a wild plant giving out good smell and he plan to take some home.
When we reach the base of the mountain, we saw that we must climb up the mountain. Super Teen is waiting down below to direct Hashers who want to use easy trail and especially children, but they decided to join the adults, so we must help them if necessary.
We climbed about 10 more minutes and reached the top, but the trail isn’t going over the mountain so we take a quick break and then headed down the way we came. But Radio Wave and Viking decided to look around some more to see if they can find another way down.
As we safely climbed down the rock, Mother Teresa showed us the way to the Down Down by following the easy trail, while SamSon and Stubble are waiting behind for Radio Wave and Viking. We walked to another open area with many rocks and we decided to take lots of photos; then Mother Teresa took us to another location but the rest decided to head to the Down Down where the ice cold San Miguel and delicious Russian snacks were waiting in the eskies.
At the Down Down, the locals saw our bus was parked under a gas company’s pipe so they told the driver to park near a local house since it is safer.
After we had our energy revitalized and the toy boat club finished their races and said goodbye, we took our group photo with the background including the mountain we climbed and the lake.
Then SamSon donned the chains of office and started the Circle with his welcoming message of Hash run #762. He welcomed the Hares Terminator and his wife Mother Teresa into the Circle, and Radio Wave volunteered tho rate the trail.
He is very happy with the trail but there is something he must say to Terminator’s family, that they are one crazy family – setting the hard trail on the first day and setting the easy one on the second day. The Russians nicknamed Mother Teresa as "crazy Mother Teresa" – and the Hares deserve 11/10 for setting this trail!
We welcomed Hash Virgins Andy from Finland introduced by Flying Finn, Mr Tien from Ho Chi Minh introduced by Samson, Ruslan by Tiny Tim, and Viktor by Rita. A virgin song is demanded.
We then bring in the Returnees: SamSon with excuse he plan to use his man made canoe to row over to Europe to help the refugees but he gave up half way. Radio Wave was holidaying in Russia and returned home after two months to clean the house, and daughter Short Wave was in school. Ms Van Anh was out finding a job, and Tiny Tim is “Lazy”. So the tubes of shame go to SamSon and Tiny Tim, also the Sinner’s cup.
Then Basil took over since SamSon was showered with cold water. We moved to Sinners, with Andy charged for inappropriate foot wear, so Down Down for him.
Then we got the present from Mother Teresa for anyone who found the piece of paper with a number inside. Perro Caliente, Short Wave, Ruslan and Ice Water learned their gift was to celebrate the new year to come and the friendship and greetings from both Terminator’s family and Russia!
Announcement for next week, Flying Finn will go with his countryman Andy to help set a trail on Small Mountain and will name it, “Finn Trail”.
Then update to joint run event in March with SH3 and Pattaya Hash both eager for it to happen. SH3 will send a Hare to help our Hares if necessary, and they will set two trails: one for runners and one for walkers.
We haven’t done anything yet for this Christmas, so we decided on the bus that we will hold a party after the run and shower on the 18/12.  More details to follow.
In the meantime, we’ll meet again
on Sunday, as usual, at Hon Ru Ri: 2 pm for 2.30 pm start!
On On!
