Hare: Uncle Hash Flash: Uncle. Additional photos: Aqua Ringmaster: Basil Report: Uncle It was another partly overcast day as we loaded the eskies onto a shiny, new bus at Hon Ru Ri for the short journey to Seaview apartments, where we were met by Terminator and family, Hash Virgin Julia (Superteen's teacher) and Aurora, with Paddy arriving just before we set off for the hike north through Seaview, Ward 10, across Highway 51 and along the sandy trails through the rural area down to the beach. The trail had an in-built diversion near the Le Quy Don school to bypass the "water jump" which had become a small lake with the onset of the rainy season; but another surprise was in store as we reached the bridge to escape the water jump - it was being covered in wet concrete! Fortunately, the workers took the interruptions in good humour as we continued on our merry way! We eventually reached the bus in bright sunshine, which luckily gave way to lots of clouds - so those who preferred the pavement to the beach had plenty of shade! After welcome refreshments and much socialising, Basil convened the team photo and then called the Circle. Bazz scored the trail 10/10, so we were off to a good start! No fewer than five Hash Virgins this week: Julia, Ms Thao, Eugene, Thao's brother Hoang, and Ms Linh - welcome all! Two returnees: Pedometer (after more than 4 years!), and Lam. Sinners were Uncle (new shoes), Paddy (arriving late) and Faulty Brakes (left his new shoes at home!). Next Sunday is the last in May, and big crowds of devotees are expected at the pagodas on Nui Dinh and Minh Dam, so Uncle and Faulty Brakes will mark a new combination "Double Lego" trail on Big Mountain - which will include a shorter trail for those who prefer to avoid clambering over rocks! We'll meet again on Sunday, as always, at Hon Ru Ri: 2 pm for 2.30 pm start. On On! VTH3 #786 PHOTO GALLERY VTH3 #786 GPS TRACE
