Hares: Faulty Brakes, Basil, (Uncle, Sec, "unavoidably absent on the day") Hash Flash: Paddy Ringmaster: SamSon Report: Basil Today's weather is kind for us with lots of cloud, so 28 Hashers joined today's local run. We fortunate to be visited by Tasmanian Hasher “Spof”; unfortunately, he had a broken leg so had to sit this run out! We all headed down to Le Ngoc Han street and walked up the Hem 89 stairs to be greeted by our usual barking dog before continuing on to Vi Ba. Bazz finally met his match with the powerful foe: “The stairs”, so he headed back and vowed to have his revenge one day! When everyone arrived at Vi Ba, we headed to the Trail “M90” and Basil started the chalk-talk: "First head up the mountain until you see the red tape that indicates left, follow it to reach the open plateau crossroads, then two choices: on the left is the shortcut down to Vi Ba, and on the right is the trail up the mountain and along Ho May Park's wall and down the line of electricity poles to reach the temple, turn right and follow the concrete road then back into the woods and follow the red tape down the mountain to coming out “M90” again and we shall head back to Hon Ru Ri for Down Down". Then “On-On” we went up the mountain, and turned left at the shown red tape. When we reached the plateau and Hare Faulty Brakes was waiting for his Co-Hare Basil, some Hashers decided to follow the Waterfall trail since it wasn't as hard as the Double Lego trail but not as easy as the shortcut, and Basil kept them company. Faulty Brakes' group followed the trail up the mountain for a beautiful scenery of Vung Tau City and cool breeze that refreshed all the Hashers. They all came down the trail of electric pole and reached the temple, then finally followed the red tape to the M90 shop. Basil’s group followed the Waterfall trail and came out onto Vi Ba street near Ho May Park, then all went down to the sugar cane kiosk for take-away refreshment and on to the Monkey Pagoda with lots of tourists giving food to the monkeys. As time was running out, Basil’s group took a shortcut through White Villa to reach Hon Ru Ri, but Basil then realized he would become a Sinner for that! When everyone had finished the trail safely, late-arrival ringmaster SamSon called the group photo and started the Circle. Visitor “Spof” asked what the photo was for, so we explained, “For our sponsor”! After the welcome message, we called the Hares: Faulty Brakes and two who were unavoidably absent today, “Uncle” (family bereavement) and “Sec” (visa run). “Super Teen” rated the easy trail 8/10 and “Paddy” gave the hard trail 10/10, so total is 18/20. Well done Hashers and Hares! We brought in Hash Virgins Ms Van, and another Ms Van, Ms Trang from the Vietnamese club, and Mr Hoang, a friend of Paddy, and we have a Hash Virgin song for them. Next we brought in Returnees Lady D with excuse "Working" and "Lazy", Hot Lips was "Busy", Titanic and D&G had "Work", "Sick" and "Lazy to get up from the couch", and Ms Dung was "Working": Down Down for them, with Tube of Shame for Titanic who gave a splendid demonstration of how not to spill a drop! Sinners were Basil for helping the shortcutters, Bazz for surrendering to the foe, and Aqua for taking a shortcut: Down Downs again, with Bass showing how to spill many drops! We brought in Visitor “Spof” from Tasmania Hash, who told us the Tassie Hash is so good the local police will give them a drive home after the Down Downs! And he was happy to have met a wonderful Vung Tau Hash, and wishes he could have come earlier but for his injured leg. So Basil give him a Hash Virgin song (some confusion between Virgins and Visitors - perhaps because both begin with "V"!). Two more Hash Virgins, 14yo Khanh and his Mom, Ms Trang from Ninh Binh and a friend of Lady D, had just finished the trail because they were visiting the temple at the same time. The joined the Circle at the last minute; Khanh said he really liked the Hash and will come back next week, so Basil performed his third Hash Virgin Song of the day! With no volunteer Hares in this week's Circle, please check the website for NEXT RUN details later in the week. Then we'll meet again on Sunday, as always, at Hon Ru Ri: 2 pm for 2.30 pm start. On On! VTH3 #787 PHOTO GALLERY VTH3 #787 GPS TRACE
