Hash Flashers: Dr. Who,Flying Finn, Radio Wave Ringmaster: Boozer Report: Faulty Brakes
Again another fantastic turnout for hash run #821 to Dinh mountains with 55 runners taking part. This week, with the usual smorgasbord of nationalities taking part, and ages ranging from as young as three to senior citizens in their seventies the family hash, departed a little later than scheduled in our new modern bus for the now familiar Dinh mountain or Nui Dinh as referred to by the locals.
The trail was designed to give the less fitter of us a chance to partake in the run and even Buddha our experienced Beer Doctor completed the task with great aplomb much to the delight of the awaiting hashers. The ‘Walk in the Forest ‘trail showed all the beauty of what Vietnam’s got to offer with a long trail cutting through the hillside Forrest and exiting near the lake and coffee shop and finally back to our coach at the end of the tarmac road. The circle was conducted by our very own master of ceremonies Simon or a.k.a .’Boozer ‘to his friend(Sandy) where the usual formalities of welcoming virgins returnees and sinners, assisted by Mother Teresa who proceeded to douse the unfortunates with ice cold water all in the spirit off good fun. We thank Boozer and Mother Teresa and all those who provided us with the excellent snacks on Sunday and a special word of thanks to Buddha for the cold beers and soft drinks. Mr T informed us about the forthcoming overnight hash to Coco Beach beach in La Gi and again we ask people to make sure they are on our mailing list and respond as quickly as possible as bookings must be made early in February on a first come basis. On Sunday we had a lot of newcomers to our club and we would we welcome you to join our family hash every Sunday. Around 5.00 pm we finished our down down and piled on board the bus with some refreshments for the return journey to Hon Ru Ri only to be treated to a raucous sing alongs in Russian, Vietnamese and English . The journey was stalled for a pit stop much to the relief of many of our beer drinkers who took the opportunity to lighten their load as a result of the earlier quaffing of our sponsors San Miguel’s delightful beers. Samson encouraged everyone with the ‘Vietnam Ho Chi Minh song ‘as we headed towards Ba Ria.This week we discovered a new talent for our singalong. Chanel ‘the daughter of Radio Wave gave us a wonderful rendering of some modern music and definitely a star for the future. All good things come to an end and Sunday was no different, arriving at Hon Ru Ri and ensuring that no rubbish been left on board we disembarked and prepared for our Eskeys to be returned to our base. Next week we return to Ba Ria for the last away trail before Tet when will have home runs during the Vietnamese Holidays.
